Taking a deep breath

My level of anxiousness rises and falls like a roller coaster, probably because I am not very savvy when it comes to computer literacy, or research for that matter. As  each new assignment is given my chest pounds wondering how I am going to get all of the work done.  But a funny thing  is happening as I make progress on our group work during the week.... I am actually starting to "get" some of it. I've learned more in the last two weeks than I know what to do with.... and I'm not just talking about navigating through facebook, which I am proud to say I am now part of..... stalk away!

But it's more than just the technical side of the course.  The concept of Integrative Learning is truly quite fascinating and I know that we have only touched the tip of the iceberg.  But I find myself looking at the classrooms where I sub a couple times each week in a completely diferent way. I hope the rest of you in class are being inspired by your topics in the same way.

Now that I've gotten that off my chest, its back to my annotated bibliography and stressing over the presentation that is due on Wednesday.

  1. It's really good to hear that, even though you're still worried and stressed sometimes about the assignments, you feel like you're learning from it and actually using it. I'm really impressed that you joined Facebook as part of the class! It does feel a little overwhelming sometimes, but to an outside observer, it seems like you're getting things well.

That's interesting to hear how the research that you've done is changing how you think about subbing, even in the short time that we've been learning about our topics. Learning about self-reflection tools has made me wonder about how I can incorporate that more into a Spanish classroom, too... hard to do that when I'm working with students whose proficiency in the target language is still pretty low, but a worthwhile goal, nonetheless.

I hope you won't stress too much, and that your work this week goes well!

  2. I completetly agree with you. The more I think about all the stuff I have to do for this class each week, the more I get stressed out. But once I get each thing done one by one that level of stress goes down a bit. Let's just get through this week and we'll be doen with our assigned topics of research!
